Bibiana Witumbili Khatiakala, a beloved mother from the region, lies in a critical coma at Fountain Healthcare Limited’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), fighting the aftermath of a life-threatening cerebrovascular accident (CVA), commonly known as a stroke.
The tragedy struck due to uncontrolled high blood pressure, which caused a rupture in her brain’s blood vessels, leading to dangerous clotting and severe neurological damage.

Bibiana was first rushed to Kakamega General Hospital in a frantic bid to save her life. As her condition worsened, she was transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for specialised ICU care.
Heartbreakingly, no beds were available amid the facility’s high demand. Undeterred, her family sought emergency admission at Fountain Healthcare, where she now receives round-the-clock monitoring and treatment.

The family’s anguish deepens with each passing day as medical bills skyrocket. ICU stays, specialised scans, medications, and life-support equipment accumulate costs that threaten to overwhelm them.
“We’re humbly appealing to brothers and sisters everywhere, your prayers and any financial support will make a difference,” the family shared in a poignant plea.
Strokes remain a leading cause of death and disability in Kenya, often linked to hypertension, which affects millions. Bibiana’s story underscores the urgent need for community solidarity in healthcare crises.
Stand with Bibiana Witumbili today. Contributions of any amount are gratefully accepted to cover these escalating expenses and give her a fighting chance at recovery. Together, we can turn the tide.
