Popular Kenyan comedian and former NTV host Osoro Cyprian has made a low-key exit from the country, relocating to the United States without fanfare, according to multiple social media reports.

The Kisii entertainer, celebrated for his sharp humor and vibrant stage presence, caught fans off guard as he slipped away unnoticed amid his busy schedule.

Osoro’s departure surfaced through viral posts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, where users shared glimpses of his new life abroad. One Instagram update on April 9, 2026, captured the sentiment:

“Osoro Cyprian quietly left for the US before many realized he was gone.”

Accounts from Abdikarim Hussein and others detailed how the comedian, often dubbed the “King of Kisii Comedy,” packed up and left Kenya’s bustling entertainment scene.

Known for his rise from homelessness to stardom, Osoro’s career highlights include co-hosting NTV’s The Trend alongside Amina Abdi, producing Mkisii Ni Mkisii comedy nights, and starring in shows like Wicked Edition and Living with Ess.

His authentic portrayal of Gusii culture endeared him to East African audiences, blending laughter with social commentary on local life.

Fans speculate the move stems from long-held ambitions. Back in 2022, Osoro openly discussed visa hurdles while eyeing tours for the Abagusii diaspora.

A playful skit, Osoro Goes to America – Sumbua Sacco, even foreshadowed such a journey, though it was pure fiction.

Better opportunities

Neither Osoro Cyprian nor his representatives have issued an official statement, leaving room for rumors.

Some attribute the quiet shift to seeking better opportunities in the US comedy circuit or family priorities.

Social media reactions range from shock—”Maranatha, yesu yu aja!”—to well-wishes, with many praising his discretion.

Osoro’s absence marks a gap in Kenyan comedy, where his high-energy performances lit up events. As he settles stateside, questions linger: Will he tour back home or build a transatlantic career?
